Medical Students
We feel that it is important that student doctors should have the chance to be involved in the work of General Practice as part of their training. If a student is with one of the doctors consulting, you will always be informed and your wishes will be respected if you prefer the student not to be present.
Nurses
The nurses run a variety of clinics and appointments including new patient and over 75 health checks, well woman services (including cervical smears) weight, and blood pressure checks, contraceptive checks and advice, HRT and other health issues, diabetes and asthma checks, well-man checks and smoking cessation clinics. Appointments for these clinics are either made at reception or in some cases, directly by the Practice Nurse. The receptionist will be able to advise you. Both nurses can be contacted via our receptionist on 01506 654444. They will endeavour to reply to your messages within 2 working days.

Treatment Room Nurses
The treatment room nurse is available by appointment, made at the community reception desk (01506 630771). They are available for dressings, ear syringing, injections etc.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Reception
The reception staff are trained to help you make appointments, order repeat prescriptions, to help you register with a doctor and assist with all general enquiries. All information given will be treated with strict confidentiality. It is helpful if staff can be given some idea of the nature and urgency of your problem in order to treat your problem appropriately.
Community Midwives
Our midwifery team are responsible for the ongoing care of our pregnant patients. They will arrange booking appointments via our reception staff and ante-natal appointments. They can be contacted via the community reception desk (01506 630771).
Community Nurses
The district nursing team provides nursing services for the elderly, disabled and ill in the community. They can be contacted via the community reception desk (01506 630771).
Health Visitors
Our health visiting team will give you advice on healthcare, particularly for mothers and babies, children up to school age and the elderly. The health visitor is involved in our child health surveillance clinics and routine immunisation clinics.
